Star Metal Ore can be harvested from meteorites, which will fall in the western region of the Snow biome, just north of the Mounds of the Dead. Cimmerians nearby hint at this, as they use star metal weapons.[1] You will see them trail across the sky, and hear their explosive boom as they crash land on the mountain ridges.[2] Meteors will destroy player-built structures and kill creatures.
The exposed Star Metal Core
You must destroy the outer shell of the meteorite before you can harvest it.The outer shell can be cracked open with explosives.One or more Explosive Jar, Exploding Trap, Explosive Arrow, or Demon-fire Orb will work.
A Grease Orb or Oil Arrow may make it easier to ensure the meteor is damaged.
The Star Metal core can be struck 15-20x before collapsing.A Steel Pick or higher is required to obtain the ore.

The following was concluded from looking at the DevKit:Every 1800 seconds (30 minutes) a cycle starts (Chance To Spawn Timer)
Initially (i.e. after server restart) there is a 75% chance that a meteor shower will be triggered (Chance to Trigger Meteor).If there is a meteor shower, the next shower comes at least 3 hours later (so in the 6th cycle) with a 2% chance for a shower, as the chance for the next meteor shower is set to 0% and the cooldown to 5 cycles (Meteor Cooldown). After that there can be a potential shower every 30 minutes and every unsuccessful attempt increases the chance for the next round by 2%.
If no meteor shower triggers then the chance for the next cycle is increased by 2% (Chance Increment) and the Cooldown (Meteor Cooldown) is reduced by 1.
The number of meteorites varies from 5 to 15 and depends on the following calculation:
'maximum number (Meteor Shower Max Count) + random number (Meteor Shower Random Amount)'where the random number is actually a range from which a value is randomly selected. The range in an actual case is -5 to +5, so it can happen that less than the max value (Meteor Shower Max Count) is spawned. Star Metal is an extremely rare resource to find in Conan Exiles, and this you need later in the game to craft armor and weapons. In this guide, we show you the locations and the benefits of Star Metal.
This rare item can be easily unnoticed, because this resource hardly differs at first glance from iron deposits. In fact, you identify it on the smoke that comes from the stone. On the following map we have marked you possible spawn locations of star metal. 
To extract star metal you have to break the hard shell off the core but to do that you should unlock explosive jar in the talents. This goes from level 35 and costs you in the production of an earthenware jug, 1x dragon powder and 10x tar.
In case, if you don't have explosive jar yet, or if that's too expensive for you then you can just throw a handful of tar balls onto the steaming stone and then throw a ball of fire at it. That should be enough to melt the hard shell. Then you can break down the bright blue stone. For a star metal bar you need 2x star metal ore, 1x sulfur and 1x black ice.
Star Metal: Best use
Even though the Star Metal is rare, you can get a fair amount of it from the stones. With good tools, you can even get partially over 100x star metal from a stone.
Night Sky ChartsNevertheless, the resource remains scarce and it must be well considered, for which one can use the metal. In the smithy you have a whole lot of armor and weapons that you can craft from the metal. So invest in the weapons you're most likely to fight with. If you have upgraded an altar to the third level, you can also craft special weapons of the deities that will make you even stronger: Derketo (sword), Mitra (Spear), Set: Snakebite (Daggers), Ymir (ax), Yog (Mace)
For the weapons you need 20 star metal bars, but the effort is definitely worth it, because they share well and look epic.
